Pablo Devigo is a conductor and historical keyboardist from Galicia, Spain, specializing in period performance practice. He serves as Artistic Director of Música d’Outrora, exploring innovative approaches to 17th-century repertoire. The ensemble’s debut album Still Life was released in 2025 by Deux-Elles. He has worked as Guest Conductor with the Real Filharmonía de Galicia and assisted orchestras throughout Europe and the United States.

A Fulbright Scholar (2015–2017), Devigo holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from Indiana University, where his research focused on Spanish baroque theater music, and degrees from the Royal Academy of Music (London) and Royal Conservatoire The Hague (Netherlands). He was a Conducting Fellow at the 2018 Aspen Music Festival and finalist at the 2021 Khachaturian Conducting Competition. His historical performance artistry has been shaped through collaborations with specialists including Fabio Bonizzoni, Patrick Ayrton, Carole Cerasi, and James Johnston.

Trained in composition and conducting at the Conservatory of the Principality of Asturias, where he graduated with Extraordinary Prize and Highest Honors, Devigo furthered his education as a Fulbright Scholar at the Cleveland Institute of Music. His pursuit of historical performance expertise led him to the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague.

Devigo’s professional journey reflects his commitment to both scholarly research and vibrant performance. In 2022, he founded Música d’Outrora, an ensemble dedicated to historical recovery and innovation. His artistic leadership is showcased in their debut recording Still Life (Deux-Elles, 2025), which presents a fresh perspective on the 17th-century Italian stylus fantasticus tradition.

Throughout his career, Devigo has collaborated with renowned conductors including Bernard Haitink at the Lucerne Festival, Paul Daniel, and William Christie. His ongoing relationship with the Royal Philharmonic of Galicia has resulted in several notable performances in Santiago de Compostela.

Devigo holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Orchestral Conducting from Indiana University (2025), where he prepared a critical edition of “Muerte en Amor es la Ausencia,” a comedia by Sebastián Durón. This project exemplifies his approach of combining rigorous research with performance practice.
